David K. Schneider, a former Foreign Service Officer, is an Associate Professor of Asian Studies at University of Massachusetts Amherst and author of Confucian Prophet: Political Thought in Du Fu’s Poetry (752-757). He has published on China and East Asia in The Diplomatic Courier, American Diplomacy, China Business Review, Wikistrat, The National Interest, War on the Rocks, and Law and Liberty.
