John P. Walters is the chief operating officer of Hudson Institute and director of the Hudson Institute Political Studies Program. He served in the federal government, at the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the U.S. Department of Education. He was also director of drug-control policy and cabinet member for President George W. Bush. He was president of the Philanthropy Roundtable from 1996 to 2001.
